A great Bingo is held every Tuesday Night at 8.30pm in the Rathdowney Community Centre. Your support would be greatly appreciated. Bingo is run by the Community Centre Group.
The Aware Support Group for people experiencing depression, anxiety, stress and other mood related conditions meets every Tuesday at 7.30pm in St Peter and Pauls Parish Centre, Portlaoise. The Donaghmore Workhouse and Agricultural Museum is open from Monday to Friday, 11am to 5pm. Come and see for yourself what life was like in a real workhouse. Rehearsals for the 2014 Rathdowney pantomime Time of our Lives are at an advanced stage with the opening night on Thursday April 10 fast approaching. The show, which has a cast of 130 men, women and children, will be staged for four nights in the Community Centre, April 10-13, with an afternoon matinee on Sunday April 13. Booking will commence in the Card Stand from Thursday April 3. The new Rathdowney Panto, penned by Michael Creagh and Niall O Doherty, is full of music and drama with a special story. It will be well worth seeing.
Bootcamp takes place every Tuesday and Thursday, 7-8pm. Pilates takes place every Tuesday at 8.15pm. These are 8 week courses. All fitness levels are welcome. Place are limited, so to book contact Brid on 086 3850977.
Gaa & Camógie
Rathdowney Errill GAA & St Brigid’s Camogie Club had the showing of the Strictly Come Dancing 2014 DVD in Rays Bar, Errill on March 15. Thanks again to each and every one of you who participated and helped out with the event. A great night was had with such a fantastic bunch of people. DVDs are now on sale for €10 each. Just ask any committee member - Paula, Breda, Justin, Berna, Eileen or Noreen. We might be looking for dancers for 2015 so get your name in there now!

The launch for the 2014 Easyrider’s charity cycle will be held in Ian Maher’s on Saturday March 29 at 9pm. Names will be taken on the night and cycle packs will be handed out to cyclists. Come along and sign up for the challenge. We have also started a bonus ball in Ian’s. Draw takes place every Saturday night. Only 2euro per line, please support.

The next competition for the Patrick White Memorial Cup will take place on Sunday March 30. Usual rules apply. Membership available between 9-10am on the morning of the competition or from the Card Stand or Keanes Petrol Station.
PARENT & TODDLER
The Parent and Toddler Group meet on Friday mornings 10am-12pm in the Marion Centre. All parents and minders with children from new born to pre-school are welcome.
Laois Ica federation
Laois week in An Grianán takes place from June 16-20. Courses available include cookery, dancing, fabric boxes, Assissi Embroidery, bets & bits, photography, pamper me, aromatherapy and encaustic art. Places are open to members and non members.
