Mountrath & District Camera Club are holding a golf classic on Friday, July 4 in Mountrath Golf Club to raise funds for the club. We will also be donating a percentage of proceeds to Mountrath Christmas Lights Fund. €80 per team of 4, €20 per person. Scramble format. Time sheet available from 8am-5.30pm. GARDENS OPEN DAY
The annual charity open day at Clonohill Gardens will be held on Sunday, June 8 from 1pm-7pm in aid of Laois Hospice and the new Solas Bhride Centre. Plant sales and afternoon tea will be available. The 1.5 acre garden features woodland, lawns, herbaceous borders and a walled garden overlooking the lake. Clonohill Gardens are on the Laois Garden Trail and have featured on TV and in the Irish Garden magazine and various print media. Clonohill Gardens are just off the old Dublin/ Limerick Rd .R445 (formerly N7)between Mountrath and Borris in Ossory. Drive through Mountrath town towards Limerick, after 1 mile, turn right, signed for Coolrain. Garden will be signed from there on the day.

The above parents council is seeking interested parents, family, friends, past pupils, of the school to participate in a sponsored walk on Croagh Patrick on June 14 to raise funds to purchase new equipment for our local school that all children will benefit from. From July 2 to 6 the club will host Mountrath Music festival 2014 and there will be something for everyone to look forward too. This will be a marquee event in the GAA grounds. Garden Fete Dove house
The annual garden fete at Dove House, Abbeyleix takes place on Sunday, June 8 from 2.30pm. Bedding plants, bric-a-brac, fund games and lots more attractions. A great family day so come and enjoy the fun.

Late John DELANEY
Condolences to the family of the late John Delaney of Clonard, Mountrath who died on May 26 peacefully at his home. Deeply regretted by his loving sisters Lil, Agnes and Josephine reposed at Burke’s Funeral Home Mountrath. Removal to St Fintan’s Church, Mountrath for requiem mass on Wednesday morning at 11am followed by burial in Cromogue Cemetery.
Late Christopher DELANEY
Condolences to the late Christopher (Christy) Delaney, Camross, formerly of Cardtown, Mountrath and Cavansheath, Ballyfin, Portlaoise passed away peacefully at the General Hospital, Portlaoise on May 27. Funeral mass and burial in Camross.
