Durrow Development Forum would like to most sincerely thank everybody who played a part in our very successful festival last week. The festival attendance exceeded 14,200 and we are so pleased with how the festival went. Thank you to all our sponsors and supporters and to everyone who attended the festival. Particular thanks to our 80+ volunteers, we couldn’t have done it without you!
Laois Walking festival proved to be a tremendous success with many thousands walking during the festival. In Durrow there was the Capponellan Wood walk on Wednesday July 3 with 130 walkers enjoying the superb walk to the woodlands and the Castle grounds. On Wednesday July 31 there was a walk around the Leafy Loop and over 120 took part in this one. Many walkers from Durrow walked in many other venues throughout the month
The parish lotto with a jackpot of €9,350 was not won on August 6, 2013. winners of the small draw were €30 Eddie Hutchinson, €25 Trish Boyhan and €20 Lawlor Family, Badger Hill. The lotto of Monday night August 19 will be held in Marc Lennon’s with a possible jackpot of €9,650. All tickets must be handed in before 9.30 pm on the night of the draw to be included in that jackpot
The Harps GAA club are holding their annual race night in O Connell’s bar and lounge on Friday august 16 ,this is one of our major fund raisers of each year so please come along and support the club. Junior hurlers - Well done to our junior hurlers on reaching the semi final of the championship, only to be narrowly beaten by Castletown on Tuesday evening last. U 16 - Hard look on our u 16 team who were defeated by Portlaoise on Tuesday last in the final of the league. Seniors - Senior hurlers take on Castletown in the next round of the championship august 17 in Portlaoise, best of look to all involved. Footballers - Well done to our Junior a footballers on defeating Ballylinan on Wednesday in the championship best of look to all in the quarter final.

The Woodenbridge Paddlers will hold their annual Juvenile regatta on Sunday 18th August at the Old Bridge Durrow starting at 2pm.Competition for all age groups.
The Woodenbridge Paddlers will hold their annual Sponsored charity paddle on Sunday 1st September. This Years event will have a start point at Boston Bridge on the Erkina River and will conclude on the River Nore at New York.
