Laois builders have raised over €3,400 for a mental health charity.
Clonaslee based company Carroll O'Keeffe & Co Ltd took on a big fundraiser last September to raise both money and awareness of good mental health in the construction industry.
They held a fun barbecue for their staff.
Director Diarmaid Carroll told the Leinster Express / Laois Live more.
"We embarked in a fundraiser in September to raise funds and awareness for Mental Health in the Construction Industry through a charity body called 'The Lighthouse Club'. The BBQ was a great day and the feedback received by all in attendance was very positive," he said.
"We raised a total of €2446.80 for this great cause from the generous donations of our valued employees, sub-contractors and suppliers. Carroll O'Keeffe also pledged €1000 to become a Company supporter of the Lighthouse Club, bringing the final sum to €3446.80," he said.
William Moloughney, Health & Safety Manager donated the cheque to Ambassador Natalie Ryan from The Lighthouse Company.
"The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity is the only charity that provides emotional, physical, and financial well-being support to construction workers and their families.
"This is why as a company we wanted to raise awareness among our workers and our suppliers of the services available to them and to raise awareness around mental health in the construction industry.
