The year 2014 is a special year for the National Steam Rally as it celebrates its 50th anniversary. Over 20,000 visitors will descend on Stradbally, Co. Laois, to celebrate with young and old alike and watch numerous steam and vintage steam engines, cars, tractors and other vintage machinery in full steam.

There will be plenty of trade stands selling products from auto jumble through to vintage fashion, with some even offering cookery demonstrations. Children of all ages can enjoy a steam train ride through the woodlands of the Cosby Estate and can revel in the carnival atmosphere. Come along to the National Steam Rally this August to join in a very special celebration. There might even be a slice of vintage cake for you!

This year we celebrate our 50th Steam Rally. The Rally Committee are holding a Photo Exhibition on the August weekend in the Art House. We are appealing to the local people who may have photos of steam engines, steam trains, people taken at the rally over the years or any memorabilia i.e. Programmes, tickets, etc from past rallies to display them in the exhibition. Your photo can be copied by us so you hold on to your original. For details contact Tony Fenlon 087-9911219 affter 4pm any evening.
