On Saturday July 25 at 11.30am in the library Dr Martin Mansergh will speak on the role of the Christian Churches in the quest for peace, with an overview of the peace process and recent developments. Dr Mansergh a former diplomat, special advisor and TD, liaised with the Republican movement prior to the 1994 IRA ceasefire and was peace negotiator.

The second print of the popular ‘The Lost Village’ book (a Slieve Bloom story) written by Sean Flanagan is in the shops. ‘The Lost Village’ of The Cones is an interesting history of the area and the life and times of the people and how they lived, with a compilation of the history of the area from what the author knew, saw, heard and read about.
