STRADBALLY FLOWER AND GARDEN CLUB
Annual outing will this year be on Saturday, June 30 and will leave Social Services Hall at 10am and return approx 9.30pm. Outing will be to Altamont Gardens with tour of walled gardens included. A visit to Nicholas Mosse Pottery and Kilkenny Castle and with some stops on the way for coffee shopping in Kilkenny and finishing the day with dinner in River Court Hotel, Kilkenny. NEW OPENING HOURS FOR STRADBALLY LIBRARY
The following new hours will operate in Stradbally library from May 15: Tuesday 1pm - 5pm & 5.30pm - 8pm,
Thursday 1pm - 5pm & 5.30pm - 8pm, Saturday 10am - 1pm.
Athletics training has now resumed in the Lawn on Monday and Thursday evenings from 7.15 to 8.15pm. All children u/6 to u/16 welcome welcome to attend. To comply with insurance policy children must be of school going age. Please note children must live within the Stradbally, Timahoe and Vicarstown boundaries to compete with our area, attending local schools in the area does not qualify a child to compete, it’s where a child lives decides the area in which they can compete. Any adult who may wish to help out at training are always welcomed and encouraged to participate. Laois county finals to be held in St Abbans on June 10, so we hope to send as strong a team to the finals when our own area finals are held at the end of May.
Stradbally Youth Centre are looking for your support as we are holding a race night to raise much needed funds in order to keep our doors open. Our race night is being held in Nappers Tandys on Saturday, June 2. We are hoping that you will support us by either sponsoring a race for a cost of €50 or buying a horse for €20. If you would like to help by selling a card on our behalf we would be very grateful. If you wish to support us please contact any of the leaders or phone 086 1525600. Any support at all would be greatly appreciated as we would like to keep this centre in the heart of our community.
Timahoe ladies are holding a 5km run/walk on Saturday May 19 at 12pm. Entry fee €10 for run and €5 for walkers. Registration at parish hall 11am or passes can be purchased from senior panel members. Also a big thank you to all our sponsors and anyone who took part in our golf classic on April 27, a great day was had by all and your support is much appreciated.

NATIONAL DRAWING DAY

VICARSTOWN FINE GAEL
Vicarstown Fine Gael held their AGM recently at the old Community Centre, Vicarstown. There was a good attendance on the night. Deputy Charlie Flanagan, TD, Cllrs Tom Mulhall and James Deegan were in attendance. Local and national issues were discussed on the night. There was a good questions and answers also. Officers elected were president John Gorman, chairperson John Nolan, vice chairperson Tom Bond, secretary Ann Maloney, treasurers Jim Scully and Sean Luttrell. Also note that the Emo Fine Gael District will be holding their AGM on Monday week, May 21 at the Gandon Inn commencing at 8.30pm.
