OSSORY CYCLING CLUB
New membership is 20 euro which also includes membership to Cycling Ireland. Existing membership is €30 euro. Those who wish to take out a racing licence should speak to club treasurer John Tynan. The date for our Cycling tour has been set for Sunday, April 21, with a 100K and a 50K challenge. Further details will be posted.

Open every Thursday morning from 10am to 12 noon at the old convent school. Men’s shed offers an opportunity for all men to come together to share their skills and talents, learn new ones or simply meet for a chat and a cuppa.

A change of date - the date is now set for Saturday, July 27. Rathdowney Playground Group will host a gathering ‘The way we played’ in the Playground and MUGA. Rathdowney/Errill GAA Juvenile Club are holding their registration night on Friday, February 22, in the clubrooms in Rathdowney from 7.30pm to 9.00pm. All new and existing members are encouraged to come along on the night. Membership for the year is €20 per child or €40 for 2 or more in the same family. There will be club gear on display. Light refreshments will also be available for parents. All winning cups including BOB, hope to make an appearance
The club meet every Monday from 2pm to 4.30pm in the communal centre on Cuan Bhride. They do wonderful work and are like one big family. Our club is always anxious to get new members to join. So come along to us any Monday.
RATHDOWNEY COMMUNITY CENTRE
Set dancing lessons for anyone over 8 years old are being held in the community centre in Rathdowney, every Wednesday from 7-8pm. Dance teacher Mick Doyle.
A musical evening with the Kilkenny College Choir and Chamber Orchestra will be held in St Andrew’s Church, Rathdowney on Thursday, February 21 at 8pm. Tickets (€10) will be available on the door. Light refreshments included. All are welcome.
Late Kathleen harrahill
Condolences to the family of the late Kathleen Harrahill, The Square, Rathdowney, who died peacefully on Sunday, February 10 in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Mount Carmel Nursing Home, Roscrea. Pre-deceased by her husband Billy, dearly loved mother of Mary, Kay and Bill. Deeply regretted by her brother Anthony, extended family, relatives and friends. Reposed at her son Bill’s residence with removal to the Church of the Holy Trinity, Rathdowney, last Tuesday for Funeral Mass followed by burial in Bealady Cemetery.
