Condolences to the family of the late James (Jimmy) Treacy of Quigley Park, Rathdowney who died on September 8 unexpectedly. Deeply regretted by his family, relatives and friends. Reposed at his residence followed by Removal to the Church of the Holy Trinity, Rathdowney for Funeral Mass followed by Cremation at Newland’s Cross, Dublin.

enhancing men’s mental health
On Thursday, October 3, a free workshop will take place in Rathdowney Men’s Shed from 10am-12.30pm focusing on issues for men as part of Laois Connects Booking is not necessary. That evening a teenage zumba class will take place in the Parochial Hall as part of Laois Connects from 7-8.30pm. The class will encourage teenage fitness and fun to increase self confidence and positive body image.
coping with loss
On Saturday, October 5 a workshop on coping with loss will take place in Marian Hall from 10am-1pm. Brian Johnston, MIAHIP, will present an approach that can help us heal the pain of loss and bereavement. Booking for this workshop is essential and there will be a €5 charge per participant.
A great Bingo is held every Tuesday Night at 8.30 in the Rathdowney Community Centre. Your support would be greatly appreciated. Bingo is run by the Community Centre Group.
If you have been thinking of coming along it is open every Thursday morning from 10am to 12 noon at the old convent school the hospitality room is now completed. It is great opportunity for all men to come together to share their skills and talents, learn new ones or simply meet for a chat and a cuppa. New members welcome every week. Commencing for the Autumn computer classes and golf lessons.

PARENT & TODDLER
Has started back after the summer break, meeting Friday mornings 10-12 in the Marion Centre €3 per meeting. All welcome parents and minders with children from new born to pre-school.
The Cullohill Padre Pio prayer group with their spiritual leader Fr Tom McGree are celebrating a special Mass in Cullohill Church at 8pm, Monday September 23, Padre Pio’s feast day. There will be a blessing of special relics. All welcome.
Drawing workshop in The Marian Centre on Friday, September 20. The aim of the workshop is to encourage children and adults to be as creative as possible, reinterpreting old classics in a modern way. For more information contact Sandra Kelly on 087-7540368.

Presentation Secondary School Thurles Reunion Committee has organised a reunion, as part of the Gathering for students who left the school between 1942 and 2002 on Saturday, September 21st 2013. Ticket sales for the event has already closed.
The Boarding School will be open between 12.30 p.m. – 2 p.m. for any boarders who wish to view their old ‘home away from home’. Please find attached more details on the programme for the day itself.
A cheese and wine reception followed by a hot fork buffet will be provided on the day. There will be a huge amount of photos on display, which will aid people in their own personal nostalgic trips down memory lane.
