Abbeyleix South National School pupils made history in the home of Laois Gaelic games on October 20, 2026, when they lifted their first Cumann na mBunscol trophy on the school’s first appearance in the Laois primary schools Gaelic games competition finals. Photographers Alf and Julie Harvey were there for the Leinster Express / Laois Live to capture their celebration on day one of the Gaelic football finals, which drew schools from across Laois to Laois Hire O’Moore Park in Portlaoise.
