IN PICTURES: Adventure in the Wild West for Laois Rose entrants

The Laois Rose entrants enjoyed a thrilling day out this weekend, going from a wild west ranch to a glamorous cocktail night in lively Portlaoise.

Along with some Offaly Roses, they took to the saddle for a fun afternoon out at Fossey Mountain Ranch high in the Timahoe hills, a genuine American style horse ranch. We sent photographer Alf Harvey along to capture the fun. More below photos.

With the Laois Rose Selection Night less than a fortnight away on Easter Sunday, almost 18 young women have stepped up to the mark to represent their community, and take a chance at becoming the next Rose of Tralee.

The girls also go to try some archery practice.

Later that evening it was time to glam up and head to Lily's in Portlaoise.

The entrants attending were Annamarie Muldowney representing The Thatch Pub Killenard, Annabel Laffan representing Kavanagh’s Bar and Venue, Tiegan Dunne representing Dunne Brothers Plant Hire, Ruby Graham representing Aisling Walsh Dance, Stephanie Quinlivan representing Nua Healthcare., Cara Phelan representing Harding’s Butchers, Sinead McEvoy representing Irish Power Energy Drinks, Anna Ward representing Bellacure Beauty, Charlene Duff representing Mansworth Productions, Sinead Dowd representing Turley’s Bar, Ciara Delaney representing Hogan’s Bar Coolrain, Leah Moffitt representing Abbeyleix Manor Hotel, Erin Ryan representing Adora & Co. Portlaoise and Amy McNamara representing The Style Bar.

Entries close this Friday, March 31. Contact Lyn or Steve at the Laois Rose Centre on social media, or on 086 2505791
