IN PICTURES: Record-breaking 'electric' day at Laois festival

The sun shone on the glorious return of a traditional Laois field festival in the Slieve Bloom mountains last weekend.

After five years, the Rosenallis Festival of the Mountain attracted its biggest crowd ever on Sunday, August 20, bolstered by the addition of a Vintage Rally. The organising committee described the atmosphere as electric. Daniel McDonald is PRO of Rosenallis Development Association, which organised the day in conjunction with the Rosenallis & District Vintage and Classic Club.

"This year's festival saw an unprecedented turnout, with hundreds of attendees joining us to make it our most well-attended event to date since it began in 1962. The atmosphere was electric, as we witnessed records being broken in terms of both our attendance numbers and the overall enthusiasm from the community and beyond.

"One of the highlights of the day was undoubtedly the weather, with the sun gracing us with its presence throughout the event," he said.
