Under the guidance of teachers Ms Vicky Murphy and Mr Paul O'Dea, 48 Transition Year students excitedly took to the stage for performances on Wednesday January 28 and Thursday 29.

This show marks the third year since musicals have returned to the school, after their electric performance of Grease in 2025, and their dramatic retelling of Beauty and the Beast in 2024.

"Students have been giving their all to this, they have been rehearsing choreography since Halloween and it's brilliant," principal Carole Devine told the Leinster Express / Laois Live.

"They have been going full tilt since they came back after Christmas, and have been practicing in their double classes dedicated to the musical each Friday," she said.

"The community has been great in supporting our shows, most of the seats were sold out. We have invited the local primary schools to attend a matinee showing," Ms Devine praised.

Well done to the Rathdowney students!
