Cedar Pharmacy in Portlaoise celebrated their relaunch at the end of March.
The relaunch marked two important milestones for the pharmacy. Firstly, the business changed ownership last August, with Ballyfin native pharmacist Liam Dunne taking over from Peter McElwee. Under the new ownership, the pharmacy was renamed Cedar Pharmacy, continuing its long‑standing presence in the town where it has served the community for over 20 years.
Secondly, while the pharmacy remains part of the 'totalhealth' pharmacy group, a recent merger between 'totalhealth' and 'Haven' Pharmacies has seen all stores re‑branded under the new 'Vital Pharmacies' name. The event also celebrated Cedar Pharmacy’s recent re‑branding and refreshed look as part of this wider change.
Commenting on the relaunch, Liam Dunne said: "Cedar Pharmacy will continue to evolve and expand the services available to the local community."
Recent additions include the Common Conditions Service, a text messaging service, and a customer App that allows patients to order prescriptions easily. Later this year, the pharmacy will also commence a vaccination service ahead of the flu season.
Take a look through some of the photos captured at the event by photographer Denis Byrne.
At the Launch of the new Cedar Pharmacy Portlaoise were Veronica and Clodagh Donovan, Aoife Burke and Liam Dunne.
