IN PICTURES: Huge school musical cast at Laois college

A Laois secondary school has assembled a huge cast of students to bring their annual musical to the stage, and it promises to be a rocking good night.

Portlaoise College are in the final preparations for their school musical We Will Rock You.

It takes to the Dunamaise Theatre stage tonight for three nights, December 6, 7 and 8 at 7.30pm.

Students have been working hard preparing for the show. Rehearsals began back in September and they are looking forward to performing for the wider community in the Dunamaise Theatre in December.

We Will Rock You follows two young rebels as they try to restore rock ‘n’ roll to the iPlanet in a post-apocalyptic world.

The show features more than 20 hit Queen songs including Another One Bites the Dust, Bohemian Rhapsody and Somebody to Love.

Their music teacher is Mr Harvey.

"It is a wonderful opportunity for students to showcase their talents and express themselves after the last number of years," he said.

The musical will be performed in the Dunamaise Theatre on December 6, 7, and 8.
