Magic in the air at Electric Picnic preparations

Preparations are in full swing for Electric Picnic as stages are up and the finishing touches are being put on all the areas.

The beautiful grounds of Stradbally Hall are now a wonder of colour and vibrancy with flags adorning the walkways and decorations hanging from the trees.

Organisers are delighted with how the festival is shaping up, stating that everything has run very smoothly this year.

Melvin Benn from Festival Republic told the Leinster Express that he was “a little flabbergasted” that the festival had sold out but it worked out better than he had hoped. “The mood is feverish around the country with people looking for tickets”.

Production manager Liam McCarthy said that Electric Picnic is like setting up a little city. “The site this year is in immaculate condition and we have had a dry summer. Everything is running smoothly and we have production going in tomorrow (Wednesday)”.

As usual the site is full of quirky places to stop and chill out and the chill out mecca of Body and Soul is bringing its magic again to the festival with a wide variety of main stage acts and plenty to entertain on their Peace Pagoda.

Another new addition is Jerry Fish’s Electric Slideshow stage - another wonderful place to take respite from the madness of the rest of the festival. Tickets are now like golddust for the 10th birthday event but for the lucky few who have a ticket in their paw, they are in for a big, big treat this weekend.
