RTÉ presenter Claire Byrne returned to her roots for a scenic walk in the Slieve Blooms, which features in final episode of Tracks & Trails on RTÉ 1.
Claire, from Mountrath, joins with Doireann Ní Ghlacáin in the final episode of walk the Glenbarrow Old Mill Loop, a 10.5km trail that winds through forest, waterfalls, including the ruins of The Cones, which was the last inhabited village in the Laois Offaly mountains.
The producers say that for Claire, the experience is personal as memories of her childhood surface on the walk around the unique mountain environment.
The Offaly side of the Slieve Blooms also features in the fourth and final episode of the series which also sees Doireann meet with Claire's Offaly colleague in RTÉ, Fiona Mitchell, who hails from Killeigh.

Laois County Council partnered with Tracks & Trails in making the episode will air on RTE 1 at 8pm, this Friday, May 30.
The Slieve Bloom Mountains stretch from near Roscrea in the south west to Rosenallis in the north-west. Looped walking trails have been developed at six trailheads in the Slieve Blooms, Glenbarrow, Clonaslee, Cadamstown, Kinnitty, Glenafelly Forest Car Park and Glen Monicknew. Walking trails are colour-coded by difficulty. The 75 km (47 mi) Slieve Bloom Way can be accessed from any of these trailheads. The Silver River Eco Trail is near Cadamstown.
The mountains are also home to a mountain bike trail.
