Gardai are warning patrons at Electric Picnic not to divulge information if contacted from a lost phone.
"If you lose your phone or it has been taken at #EP23 please be aware that Gardaí will never ring a marked contact on it if found. We will only arrange this in person. If you are contacted in this way, do not provide your passcode over the phone," Gardai said in a tweet.
It's feared access to mobile phones may not only result in not only the phone but also apps such as banking apps being accessed on the devices.
Laois Offaly Garda Crime Prevention Officer Graham Kavanagh issued the following advice to festival attendees.
