Laois GAA legend Ross Munnelly has thrown his support behind a fundraising campaign launched by Knockbeg College to develop new playing pitches at the school, which is synonymous with nurturing Gaelic games in Laois, Carlow and Kildare.
The Arles Kilcruise clubman, who is now a coach with the Laois Senior team, is encouraging support for the development of two new pitches at the school on the banks of the River Barrow on the Laois-Kildare border.
The Knockbeg College Field of Dreams fundraiser was officially launched on Tuesday, April 14, with former Laois great and teacher in the school, Chris Conway, present.
The school plans for the pitches will be ready for use by September 2027, providing "top-quality" facilities for students and athletes for years to come.
"We ask our past pupils, local businesses, and GAA supporters to help us reimagine that field - not just as grass and goalposts, but as a lasting symbol of opportunity, ambition, and community spirit," say the school.
The school says you can support by donating here https://platform.payzone.ie/customer/11225/express-payment/101125 or via the Bank of Ireland Knockbeg College Field of Dreams IBAN: IE76 BOFI 9065 3138 9437 92 .
