Taoiseach Simon Harris praised Portlaoise Cllr William Aird as a 'strong champion for Laois'

Taoiseach Simon Harris has announced his full support to fellow Fine Gael member Cllr William Aird, who will run as a candidate in the upcoming General Election.

Cllr Aird is currently the only Fine Gael candidate running in Laois, and has a long history as a public representative in the county.

The Taoiseach and Minister for Justice Helen McEntee attended the turning of the sod at Portlaoise Garda HQ on Friday November 1.

The pair were accompanied by Laois County Council Cathaoirleach Padraig Fleming, Minister of State Sean Fleming, Portlaoise Fine Gael Councillor William Aird, Garda Commissioner Drew Harris, and Minister of State Kieran O'Donnell.
