Laois General Election Returning Officer has deemed Willie Aird elected as a new TD for Laois after the fifth count in Portlaoise.
Mr Aird was elected after the distribution of votes from Green Party candidate Rosie Palmer.
The Portlaoise farmer has made hishtory by being the first TD returned from the new Laois constituency to Leinster House.
Mary Hande of Aontu and Ken Mooney of People Before Profit will now be elected.
