WATCH: Introducing hairstylist and Laois Rose hopeful Mckayla Mulhall

As proud local media sponsor of the Laois Rose of Tralee 2019, the Leinster Express is happy to introduce this year's Laois Rose hopefuls.

Introducing Laois Rose 2019 entrant Mckayla Mulhall from Mountrath. Watch her introduction video above and read her profile below.

"My name is Mckayla Mulhall. I'm 23 years old and I’m from Mountrath Co Laois.

"I was a junior hairstylist in Portlaoise further education college a year ago but I had to make an emotional, hard decision to drop out over my health.

"I have recently applied to go back to college in September to get my qualifications. I didn't realise I had a passion for hair until I worked as a hairdressing assistant three years agCeline'slines hair salon in Mountrath.

"I learned how to do a laced braided bun and a fishtail braid from watching tutorials on YouTube. My favourite part about hairdressing is the upstyles because I love to get creative.

"I am a team player, kind hearted, caring, confident and bubbly. Back in July 2,018 I got the amazing opportunity to represent my town when I was a finalist in Miss Limerick. I got to meet the gorgeous Celia Holman Lee who is my role model. It was an amazing experience where I made wonderful friends for life and got amazing support from my community.

"I started modelling when I was 18 to build up my confidence. I am a family person they have been my rock and amazing support system because off them I wouldn't be the gorgeous confident lady I am today.

"So I want to be a role model for young woman and girls who are going through bullying, eating disorders, depression and who have self harmed that it's okay not to be okay and never give up hope. I want to be voice and inspiration and tell my story that we are all beautiful no matter what shape, size, gender or race if we come from a travelling background or settled background. We are all beautiful and equal."
