As proud local media sponsor of the Laois Rose of Tralee 2019, the Leinster Express is happy to introduce this year's Laois Rose hopefuls.
Introducing Laois Rose 2019 entrant Shannon Delaney Stratford from The Swan, Co Laois. Watch her introduction video above and read her profile below.
"My name is Shannon Delaney Stratford, I’m 18 years old. I live in a small village called the Swan in county Laois and I am delighted to say that this year I have entered the Laois Rose with a wonderful bunch of girls.
"I currently work part-time in a family business in Laois known as Clelands, which I am over the moon to say they have decided that they are going to sponsor me. I was a full-time applied social studies student but I decided after my Christmas exams that the course just wasn’t for me.
"I will be going to Carlow college in September as I deferred a humanities course just after my Leaving cert results last year. I hope to eventually do primary school teaching out of the humanities course as I feel very passionate about watching children learn new things and grow up to find themselves."
The Laois Rose selection night takes place on Friday, April 19 at Castle Durrow from 7.15 pm. Tickets are €25 and some will be available on the night.
