Terryfing bikers and quad riders have casued havoc in the woods and roads around scenic Emo Court in Laois in recent weeks.

Video taken by a member of the public on Bank Holdiay Monday shows between four and five young males driving at speed on roads and paths in the woods surrounding the State-owned Emo Court.

The woods are owned and managed by the State-owned forrestry company Coillte while the house is the responsibility of the Office of Public Works.

Gardaí were called to the scene but witnesses said the bikers were playing 'cat and mouse' with the police. Coillte are also investigating in an effort to find out who is involved.

A witness said said many people were terrified by the group who drove at high speed through the estate.

The identity of those involved is not clear from the video taken. Most are wearing helmets except a quad bike rider how is wearing a mask over his face.
