Gardai are appealing for information in relation to a burglary at Doogues Bar in Raheen on Tuesday, January 10.
Gardaí at Portlaoise Garda Station are investigating the burglary which occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, January 10 at approximately 01:50 am.
On the night in question, a metallic blue Toyota Landcruiser pulled into the car park of Doogues Bar, Raheen. The burglars then smashed their way into the bar. The crime featured on RTE’s Crimecall on February 27.
“Two males exited the vehicle and entered the smoking area carrying a crowbar and a hammer. They broke the glass to the internal door using their weapons and proceeded to the bar area. The suspects used the crowbar and hammer to free the tills, and took them to the Land cruiser. The suspects then left in the 4x4 turning left out of the premises and through Raheen Village,” Gardai said.
Gardai said both suspects are described as being between 5’10” and 6 foot in height and of stocky build.
Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the Raheen area on Tuesday, January 10 between 1am and 2:15am. They would like to speak to anyone who my recognise the men or have dashcam footage from the area. They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the landcruiser between January 9 and January 13.
