Watch: Man with Laois links who died in Liffey interviewed

A homeless man Jimmy Nicholl who had lived in Portarlington but was from Portarlington is set to be nominated for a National Bravery Award.

The public responded to his death pm Good Friday when he died trying to rescue a man from the River Liffey in Dublin by putting his name forward for an award. The nominations emerged during extensive coverage by Joe Duffy on RTÉ who also revealed that the former soldier had been featured in an interview on YouTube in 2022. Watch above.
