TAOISEACH Leo Varadkar has confirmed he would be happy to be 'grilled' by the new host of The Late Late Show if he is invited to appear as a guest.
Mr Varadkar was speaking in Limerick at the Fine Gael think-in hours ahead of Patrick Kielty's first show which will be broadcast on RTÉ One television this Friday night.
"I'd be happy to go on the programme and I really wish Patrick the best in what is going to be a really big endeavour," the Fine Gael leader to reporters.
"I think he has done really well in his career so far in what he has done, (he is ) a very smart guy, a very clever guy and I really wish him the very best for his first programme and into the future.
Down native, Patrick Kielty, was revealed as the new presenter over the summer after Ryan Tubridy stepped down from the role in May.
Earlier this Friday, RTÉ announced that Permanent TSB is to sponsor the flagship programme for the next two years.
The brand-new season of The Late Late Show begins this Friday at 9.35pm on RTÉ One television and on the RTÉ Player.
