'Continue to kick up a storm' for Laois hospital Portlaoise priest urges public #watch #saveplaoiseane

Portlaoise priest and hospital Chaplin has urged the public to continue to 'kick up a storm' to stop services being withdrawn from Portlaoise hospital.

Fr Paddy Byrne was the first speaker at the Portlaoise Hospital Action Committee public protest in Laois on Saturday night. At least 5,000 people converged on the town centre to protest downgrade.

As Chaplin, he said he sees firsthand the 'wonderful work' being done particularly at the hospital's Emergency Department (A&E).

"The fact is A&E saves lives," he said.
