#Watch Heavy snow shower in Portlaoise as Met Eireann warning in place

There was a short burst of heavy snowfall in Portlaoise on Tuesday morning, January 16.

The snowfall started around 8:50am and fell heavily until just after 9am.

A status yellow snow-ice warning is in place untill 3am Wednesday morning.

Snow showers like this are expected throughout the country today.

Driving conditions are now very wet and drivers should take care.

Under a Status Yellow warning scattered snow showers can give accumulations of up to 3 cm. Roads and paths will be slippy due to accumulation of ice on untreated surfaces.
