Laois alternative-indie band The Lost Messiahs are all set for a busy summer, with a beautiful new single just released and gigs in Forest Fest and Electric Picnic.
The acclaimed Portlaoise band's new single dropped last Friday, called Radiance of Moon, their fourth single from their recently released third studio album.
Shimmering guitars and steadfast vocals create an ethereal soundscape, a signature sound of the band. The wistful and heartfelt lyrics tell a love story.
The songwriter is Ollie Plunkett.
“It expresses the joy and feeling of gratitude to have met one’s soulmate, and the sense of wonder and magic that each new day reveals,” he said.
The video features radiant vignettes in haunting slow-motion. The scenes glow with incandescent colors sure to captivate viewers.
“The song has been placed on the Recommended playlist for RTE1 which is the first time one of our songs has achieved this, so we are delighted,” Ollie told the Leinster Express.
He storyboarded and produced the video himself.
“I collaborated with a talented videographer in the States who shared a similar vision. Writing the song I could visualise myself in a beautiful garden with the most beautiful person in my life in front of me. and the moon's rays outlining her beauty. For the video I wanted to capture that scene in some way but didn't want to represent it too literally. So the video is a bit more abstract but I think it still captures the feeling," he said.
Upcoming gigs include Forest Fest on Sunday 23 July on the Perfect Day Stage at 18.40, Aunty Nora's Portlaoise on Saturday August 19, Crane Lane Cork Saturday August 26, Electric Picnic on Friday September 1, and the Dunamaise Arts Centre on Friday September 29.
