People First Credit Union has revealed the finalists for this year's €10,000 Community Champion Award.
The projects in the running for the award were announced by Carol Murphy, Marketing Manager at People First Credit Union at the Laois Community and Voluntary Awards on Friday night in the Midlands Park Hotel, Portlaoise.
The nominations are Athy Sing and Sign Club which is an Irish sign language group teaching ISL to people from six years of age to 72 years of age. Ballinakill Community Development Association for their virtual tour of villages, historical features to promote active lifestyles and engagement with community history. The third nominee is Abbeyleix Community Garden for their rainwater harvesting project.
The 2024 finalists will go forward to the People First Credit Union Annual General Meeting in January when the winner will be announced.
