Family fun this afternoon at the medieval Old Fort Quarter Festival in Portlaoise

Portlaoise is a hive of family friendly fun this Sunday afternoon, with Fitzmaurice Place full of happy children painting shields and having some safe sword fights, and learning about medieval Maryborough.

Hosted by Laois Heritage Society, this wing of the Old Fort Quarter Festival includes Lord Edward's Own Re-enactments Group, Raven haven Aviaries, and a tradition cooking stand.

Watch our video with lots of happy children enjoying another amazing sunny day at the festival.
