WATCH: Laois school wins at the 'Oscars' of school movie making in Ireland

Scoil Phadraig in Portarlington has walked away with one of the top prizes in Ireland's awards for film making in schools.

The movie entitled 'Nelson and his story' won the Outstanding Achievement in Filmmaking Award for Acting at the FÍS Film Awards 2023 in The Helix, DCU, Dublin.  

The awards honor talent, ambition, and storytelling on screen among young primary school creatives.

Harry Byran plays Nelson in the movie made at the boy's school in the Laois Offaly town. It tackles the thorny issue of bullying. Watch above
