WATCH: Popular Met Eireann weather forecaster says goodbye on RTÉ

Joanna Donnelly announces final forecast on RTÉ

Popular Met Éireann weather forecaster bid farewell to RTÉ viewers in what she said was her last forecast on Bank Holiday Monday after the 9pm news.

To the suprise of many she concluded: "That is my last forecast. Goodnight and goodbye."

Ms Donnelly announced her intention to retire at the start of 2025, saying she might move to live in the Netherlands with her Dutch husband.

Ms Donnelly has spent 30 years as a meteorologist with Met Éireann. She delivered the forecast on RTÉ for ten years up to her retirement.
