Plámásing, hosted by Fionn Phelan from Mountrath at Kavanagh’s Pub and Venue in Portlaoise, was one of the centrepiece events of the Samhain Folk Festival 2026.
Fionn has hosted well over a hundred storytelling events and travelled all around Ireland, bringing a new twist to the Irish tradition.
Fionn’s show was featured during a festival that explored the connections between Irish and European folklore, myth, history and tradition.
The Samhain Folk Festival was funded through Cultúr 2026 - the national cultural programme supporting Ireland's Presidency of the Council of the European Union and supported by Creative Ireland Laois, in partnership with Laois County Council.
