The team revealed they have far fewer items this year compared to previous years
As 80,000 people leave the Electric Picnic festival grounds in Stradbally the work is just ramping up for volunteers at Lost and Found.
Every year thousands of items get lost and find their way Electric Picnic’s Lost and Found. Volunteers co-ordinated by local woman Carmel Farrell spend the festival and the weeks after Electric Picnic logging all of the items which are handed in during the event and its clean up.
They usually end up with boxes of car keys, mobile phones, clothes, bags, glasses, jewellery and more.
The items are taken to the Stradbally Steam Museum on the town’s Main Street where the team try to reunite owners with their property. They do this by locating anything which might identify and owner, posting the items on the Electric Picnic Banter facebook page and issuing a mobile number which accepts only text messages about missing property.
The number 0874097011 will only accept texts or whatsapp messages which the team will respond to. They will not answer calls as they are too busy dealing with the items and looking after people who call to the Stradbally Steam Museum at Eircode R32 YT65.
“Please be respectful to us as we are a group of volunteers who enjoy what we are doing but don’t need “attitude” from people - especially when we are doing our best to get through emails, texts and what’s app in the hundreds. All we ask is a bit of patience from you all.

Looking forward to posting to the page in the next few days - the volume of items we have is a lot smaller than other years,” the Lost and Found team revealed in a post on social media.
Lost and Found opens in Stradbally today, Wednesday and Thursday from 2pm to 8pm and on Friday and Saturday from 2pm to 6pm. It will open again next week but the hours and opening days may vary.
