Watch: Lads try out period pain simulator at Electric Picnic
Period pain simulator aims to open up the conversation around menstrual health
Walking through Croí at Electric Picnic you will come across an unusual sight - groups of lads trying out a period pain simulator.
What’s it all about? It’s run by The Period Fairies, an initiative that provides free and accessible sanitary products at festivals.
Ben volunteered to try out the period pain simulator which he said was “fairly sore”.
One of the co-founders Aoife told us more about the project: “We are a space at festivals where we have free tampons for festival-goers, we have specific toilets that are fully stocked, we have bins, lights for the night time and a chill out area for anybody that needs to chill out and have a cup of tea or a hot water bottle and relax.
“We also have a period pain simulator that we use to open up the conversation around menstrual health.”
