Condolences to the family of the late Mary Quinn (nee O’Dwyer), Sue Ryder Home, Portlaoise and late of Clonaslee & Cashel who died on September 8, peacefully at the Midlands Hospital, Portlaoise. Beloved wife of the late Joe and sister of the late Sr Helen OP. Deeply regretted by her brother John extended family, relatives and friends. Requiem Mass in St John the Baptist Church, Cashel followed by Burial in Ardmayle Cemetery.

Clonaslee Comhaltas music classes begin on Thursdays from 4:30 pm in the Community Centre. Instruments taught; tin whistle, fiddle, button accordion, piano accordion, flute, banjo and keyboard. Beginner’s patchwork quilt class is starting on Tuesday September 15 in the Heritage Centre. Morning class from 10am-12 noon or evening class, 7.30pm – 9:30 pm, depending on numbers. Six weeks of classes. Contact Annette Doolan on 087-988-1046.
The hardworking tidy towns committee have been invited to the National Awards on September 28 in the Helix in Dublin. Fingers crossed. Best of luck to Patrick Blake, who has left for college in Galway. Work continues on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6pm starting from the Heritage Centre.
