Majestic Rock of Dunamaise in Laois on Ireland's Ancient East in pictures

The Rock of Dunamaise is a majestic Laois landmark which gives a great view of Laois and Kildare.

Located between Portlaoise and Stradbally, the historic site is a gem on Ireland's Ancient East.

It dates to the 9th century and was the site of an Irish fort. It would later become an Anglo-Norman fortress.
