Portlaoise District Court
A man appeared in court accused of assaulting a woman causing her harm.
The man (43), who has a Laois address, is accused of assaulting a woman causing her harm at a location in Laois on February 9, 2026. He appeared before Portlaoise District Court via video link.
Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby said in his view the alleged assault was at the upper end of such incidents.
Judge Susan Fay remanded the defendant in custody to appear again on March 16 for DPP directions. She also certified for a Polish interpreter for the next date.
