Friday November 24 was the annual Jersey day in Mountrath Community School and the students took the chance to show off colourful jerseys across many clubs, counties and sports.
The charity this year was chosen by students as the Jack and Jill children's foundation, and with €2 donated by all the jersey wearers, there was a healthy €560 raised.
Teacher Margaret Fitzpatrick and the LCVP class in Sixth year organised the fundraising event.
The donations were collected by 6th year students Rachel Gorman and Chelsea Barrett, wearing their Jack and Jill t-shirts.
“I am very proud of these LCVP students who showed great interest and maturity in their approach to planning and carrying out this event. It was an impressive display of jerseys,” said Ms Fitzpatrick.
The teacher added that her students were very organised, dedicated and enthusiastic and that she was very proud of them for all the work, time and effort they put into organising and planning the annual event.
