See the wonderful images of the hundreds of Christmas shoeboxes donated by children from Holy Family Senior School in Portlaoise.

The school is this year continuing the tradition begun before it was formed.

"It's a charity that all three of the school's used to support (Sacred Heart, Scoil Mhuire & St Paul's) and we're delighted to continue this tradition in our new school," said teacher Geraldine Stack.

The shoeboxes packed with gifts, toiletries, stationery and small clothes items, are winging their way to Africa and Eastern Europe, for less fortunate children, for whom it might be the only present they open this Christmas.

The project is part of the Irish charity Team Hope.
