The Portlaoise Ladies Hockey Club held their end of season social night and award-giving ceremony last week in Portlaoise.
The club finished up the season in third position in Leinster League Division 9, narrowly missing out on promotion to Division 8.
It has been a fantastic season for the club who were promoted into Division 9 only at the end of last season.
The award for Top Goal Scorer went to Abbeyleix native April Kent.
The award for Best Newcomer was presented to Jenny Keegan and the award for Player of the Year was given to Goal-Keeper, Linda Monaghan, for her fantastic saves and dedication throughout the year.
The club were delighted to welcome many new players to the team this year. The new players fitted in very well with the already established and experienced players, under the brilliant and dedicated coaching of James Deegan. The club will return to training in August, when new players will be very welcome to join. Contact the club on Facebook for more details.
