Stradbally school celebrates Grandparents Day in Laois

St Colman's NS in Stradbally, Laois celebrated Grandparents Day recently in the school, as part of Catholic Schools Week.

Every year St Colman's makes a big effort to recognise the special contribution that grandparents make to families in their school.

"Their relationship with their grandchildren is unique and impacts greatly on a child's journey though childhood and beyond. It’s a day in which people are asked to recognise and connect and most importantly to say thanks," the principal Andrew Hanrahan said.

Fr Marcellan facilitated the Prayer Service in the Halla where the entire school community gathered with a huge group of grandparents, childminders and parents. 6th Class were great hosts and the tea, cakes and chat were a great success. The school sends a big thanks to everybody who attended.
