Work underway to make Laois heritage site greener

Work is underway at Abbeyleix Heritage House to improve sustainability and make the site greener.  A ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) system with battery storage is currently being installed which is part of their Smart Village Project. The project also includes biodiversity-friendly planting and smart traffic monitoring equipment. CONTINUE READING BELOW PHOTO

"These new developments build on our ongoing efforts to make Heritage House greener," said Abbeyleix Heritage House. 


"In recent years, we’ve delivered a roadside native hedgerow, reinstated a heritage variety orchard, and developed a dedicated wildflower area. We would like to acknowledge the support of LEADER (via Laois Partnership) and SE Systems in bringing this project to life."
