Operation Transformation reveal Portarlington Local Hero for challenge with Dr Sumi and Dr Eddie

RTÉ One series Operation Transformation has revealed the Portarlington Local Hero to feature on television next week.

The health series will hold its weekly Ad Break Challenge in Portarlington this Friday night, also home to two of the show's medical experts.

The Ad Break Hero will be Terry Lawlor, a local community hero who volunteers to sweep the streets.

Also attending will be OT experts Dr Sumi Dunne and Dr Eddie Murphy who both happen to be locals.

Fitness expert Karl Henry is urging all of Port to get out and show Ireland how active they are, for the three minute exercise challenges.

"Dr Eddie and Dr Sumi are going to be joining us for an amazing Ad Break challenge. So come along, bring your friends, bring your family, bring your flags, bring absolutely everything, and bring the energy that Laois has brought over every single ad break challenge that we've done in this year's show. We'll see you at the Portarlington Leisure Centre at 7pm on Friday," Karl says.

Last Wednesday, Vicarstown was featured in the Ad Break challenge, with the Local Hero helping lead the exercises being James Deegan retired councillor who with his wife Toni has planted an entire woodland for the community to enjoy.
