Easter Rising for The Lost Messiahs of Laois

Portlaoise alternative-indie band The Lost Messiahs are set to release a new single, “Brownsfield.”

Released ahead of their third full-length studio album, the song was recorded and produced by Ollie Plunkett at Golden Egg Studios Portlaoise , mixed by the legendary producer Chris O’Brien, The Production Suite and mastered by Greg Calbi and Steve Fallone, Sterling Sound, New York.

The song was written about a field called Brownsfield located across from Ollie’s childhood home. The band explain more.

"Though just an ordinary field, this blank landscape offered a young adolescent a canvas to create an imaginary world. Everyone has their own Brownsfield, their escape from the ordinary into the extraordinary.

"The song is accompanied by a music video that depicts the journey from childhood to adulthood, paralleled with a spiritual journey towards enlightenment.

"Subtle and sudden changes in shade create different moods, and the video moves in and out of these themes, from the present back to the past," they say. MORE BELOW PICTURE.

The single/video will have its national release on Good Friday, April 7.

The band are embarking on an Irish tour to support the release and dates include Crane Lane Theatre, Cork on Wednesday, April 5 followed by a gig in their hometown, Aunty Nora’s (behind Peig’s Bar) on Easter Sunday Night.

The Messiahs have only played Portlaoise on three occasions with the last being in the Dunamaise Arts Centre in 2021.
The band are really looking forward to playing the beautiful new Aunty Nora’s venue in Portlaoise which will have its official opening on Easter Sunday Night.

The Lost Messiahs was formed by songwriter and guitar player Ollie Plunkett.

There is a mystical spiritual connection in The Lost Messiahs music, from collaborations with monks to exploring the inner workings of the mind and the search for meaning.
