Sinead McEvoy
One the entrants to the 2023 Laois Rose has possibly the most apt sponsor ever considering her lifestyle.
Sinead McEvoy from Ballyroan is sponsored by Irish Power Energy Drinks, and is clearly full of energy herself in sport, business and leisure.
"I am aged 20 and grew up on a dairy farm in Ballyroan. I am studying electronic engineering in Maynooth University.
"For years I played football with Ballyroan but mainly Camogie with Abbeyleix and my secondary school Heywood with whom I won a Leinster.
"I also boxed with Portlaoise and my university. I won an All Ireland in boxing for Maynooth last year and was nominated for first year sportsperson of the year.
"One of my passions is horses and I worked in some top showjumping yards.
"In my spare time I solder mini electronics projects, read, bake and have taken up cross stitch and languages. Drawing is a big passion. I have an art page on Instagram where I sell commissions.
"I am also raising funds to do a skydive for Youth Suicide Prevention Ireland," Sinead said.
She will take to the stage in the Midlands Park Hotel on Easter Sunday night, for the glamorous and fun Laois Rose Selection Night.
Tickets are €25 and will be available on the evening so get there early. Doors open at 7pm and show starts at 7.30pm sharp.
See this week's Leinster Express for profiles of all 17 Laois Rose Entrants.
