Lots set to go under the gavel
Sheppard's Auction Rooms are promising that Durrow will become "the centre of the antiques" world next week for the Legacy of the Big House auction.
Philip Sheppard and his team say incredibly rare and desirable porcelain, glass, designer and antique furniture, Irish and European art, chandeliers, table lamps, Asian art, objets d’art all feature.
Also going under the gavel will be items autographed by the world's greatest-ever footballer Pele and the coolest and craziest rock band of the 1960s and 1970s The Rolling Stones.
The electric guitar is autographed by Charlie Watts, Mick Jagger, Ronnie Woods and Keith Richards. It is enclosed in a shadow box. It has estimate of €3,000 to €5,000.

A stunning French mantel clock, a number of Percy French paintings and a stand-out lacquered cabinet on stand are also up for sale.
All will be offered for sale on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, September 26-28 at Sheppard's Auction rooms in the centre of the historic town.
Previews take place on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, September 23-25 in Durrow.

Lot 7 - A georgeous pair of 19th-century hide wingback armchairs. Estimate: €2,500 to €3,500.
Lot 151 - A stunning bronze and gilded French empire mantel clock has an estimate of €8,000 to €12,000. With silver dial and gilded Roman numerals, it is cradled by a classical figure, raised on a stepped green marble base.
Lot 252 - An incredible Percy French painting with hand-written musical notation on the back of his song, The Mountains Of Mourne has an estimate of €15,000 to €25,000.
Lot 134 - Is a late 17th-century lacquered cabinet on stand Behind the lacquered ornithological decorated doors are 11 small drawers similarly decorated. The carved gilt wood base has a dramatic leaf scroll apron, raised on caryatid scroll supports. It has an estimate of €3,000 to €5,000.
