Irish rock band to make Laois debut next month

Chiral will take to the stage at the Dunamaise Arts Centre in Portlaoise for a much anticipated gig

Irish rock band to make Laois debut next month

An Irish rock band have taken Germany by storm, and will return to Laois for their debut performance in the Dunamaise Arts Centre.

Chiral, made up of Gary Duncan, Adam Brewer, Eddie ‘Graveyard’ Delaney and Al ‘Bluster Bhoy’ Tierney will take to the stage on Thursday, February 27.

Originally formed in 2023, the band have recently been praised as one of the top ten rock/metal bands in Ireland in 2024.

“We will be launching our debut album, ‘The Karnival Of Chaos’ with first pressings on vinyl,” said band member Gary Duncan.

“The records will be exclusively available to show attendees at first, we intend to release the album to the public around April,” Mr Duncan explained.

The group is also set to premiere their music video ‘Bones’, one of a three-part series featuring Rebecca Deegan as actress and artist.

"The three videos make up a complete story through music,” Mr Duncan told the Leinster Express / Laois Live.

“Our first major singles have performed brilliantly, launching Chiral on to the rock/metal music scene, both in Ireland and abroad,” he said.

Local band Motion Sickness featured as special guests, and the Red Embers Dance Group performing also.”

The group’s ‘Rage Against the Machine’ inspired anthem ‘Digital Whispers’ is a haunting ode to the existential dread of AI’s influence on humanity.

Although 'Digital Whispers' is where Chiral started, the band maintain that they originally had no plans to release the song.
However, this decision changed following the success of their single 'I Bring Chaos'.

Mr Duncan’s magic on the guitar, paired with the talent from vocalist Adam Brewer, provide a dark alliance to the band from the very start.

This coupling led to a perfect match with Eddie “Graveyard” Delaney bringing the thunder on drums, and the iconic sound from bass behemoth Al “Bluster Bhoy” Tierney.

With further releases like 'Digital Whispers' and 'Kubrick Odyssey' exclusively on YouTube in early 2024, a dark pilgrimage through Germany in May, and accolades echoing from the farthest corners of the globe, the chaos of Chiral seems to know no bounds.

“Imagine this pandemonium through the prism of chirality, where rebellion intertwines with the symphony of skulls and spray cans,” Mr Duncan said,

“Chiral is not just a band; it is a carnival of sonic madness, where the darkness beckons you. Come join the dark parade,” he finished.

The rock band will provide what they hail as an Audio-Visual Extravaganza at their Dunamaise performance.

Expect sensory overload as they merge sound, light, and motion in a one-night-only experience.

Catch Chiral and guests at the Dunamaise Arts Centre on Thursday February 27, with doors opening at 8:30pm.
